We were recently informed by a guest that this picture in our dining room (one of many pictures in our guesthouse of Lodge on Main in Port Elizabeth) is of Dark Hedges, a picturesque 18th-century avenue of trees in Northern Ireland!
What’s even more surprising is to learn that this very spot was used to film a scene for the highly popular television series, Game of Thrones! For fans of this series, you should remember this very scene from the first episode of season 2, when Arya Stark escapes King’s Landing, disguised as a boy. She travels with Yoren, Gendry, Hot Pie and others who are on the journey to join the Night’s Watch. With the show coming as far as it has and gaining such a large following, you must be keen for season 6!
As for Dark Hedges, check out the map below to find it.
